| This classic safari combines the best of Zambia and Malawi. Spend five days in South Luangwa National Park, one of Africa's premier wildlife sanctuaries with one of the greatest game concentrations in Africa. The park is famed for its excellent leopard sightings and walking safaris were pioneered in Luangwa and it still sets the pace. Then fly via Lilongwe and to the north of lake Malawi. Spend three nights at each of two remote luxury lodges on Lake Malawi relaxing and enjoying watersports, one on the Malawian side of the lake and one on the Mozambiquan lakeside. Then fly back to Lilongwe. |

Day 1 : Charter flight from Lilongwe to Mfuwe and transfer to South Luangwa Camp, 5 nights Kapani Lodge & Mchenja Camp. FI. The brooding Luangwa River meanders through the luxuriant valley, supporting thousands of hippo and crocodile and sustaining the park. Elephant, a wide variety of antelope, buffalo, kudu, zebra, Thornycroft?s giraffe and wildebeest occur in great numbers, as well as over 400 bird species. Lion, wild dog and hyena are also common and the park is famed for its excellent leopard sightings. In the dry winter months from June to September you stay at small seasonal safari camps in glorious seclusion; the more sophisticated lodges, close to the main gate at Mfuwe Bridge, remain open longer. Delightful camps occupy prime sites on ancient oxbow lakes, amidst shady ebony groves, and offer day and night game drives in open vehicles.

Day 6 : Transfer to Mfuwe for charter flight to Lilongwe and onward flight to Likoma Island, 3 nights Kaya Mawa FBA Kaya Mawa is built on a crescent shaped beach, surrounded by baobab trees and mangos on the tip of the remote Likoma Island. Built by hand in conjunction with the local community, the lodge consists of eight stone, teak and thatched cottages. Explore the lake and its shores, looking out for otters, take an excursion to remote spots where wild dog and even a leopard have been spotted on the beach! The 'town' is a 45-minute walk from the lodge and you gain an insight into traditional island life as you stroll to the amazing Chipyela Cathedral and the cobbled market square. Water-skiing, wake boarding, fishing, windsurfing, dinghy sailing are also on offer.

Day 9 : Boat transfer to Cobue in Mozambique, 3 nights Nkwichi Lodge FBA Be among the few to explore the largely unexplored Manda Wilderness.

Day 12 : Charter flight back to Lilongwe Take a light aircraft charter back to Lilongwe and connect with onward arrangements.
